Information from NZQA about using NCEA to study in Australia

Only the credits gained in NCEA level 3 courses are considered. You must get NZ UE to apply.
Currently they use the best 90 credits you have got at level 3 and calculate your average as a percentage, using the following values: 5 for each credit earned with Excellence, 3.5 for each Merit and 2.5 for each Achieved. This may change as our Level 3 is changing.
Australian universities also have high requirements in relation to your level of English. I suggest you email the university or course you are interested in and ask is Level 3 English is required and how many credits.

When applying to university in Australia you need to apply through the state the university is in. This is over seen by the Australasian Conference of Tertiary Admission Centres (ACTAC) and has these five centres. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and the University of Tasmania also participate in ACTAC meetings.
