Preschool join Year 9 in the Science Garden

As part of our Middle School SEED programme, students learn about environmentalism, ecology and toitūtanga (sustainability). With a focus on connection to the school community, Year 9 students work together on developing and expanding the Science garden. This week, Marsden Preschool was excited to share in this tuakana-teina learning opportunity. Year 9 students showed our young tamariki their vegetable garden, which was full of beans, carrots, beetroot, parsley and mint. They learnt about how a bean seed grows and sprouts, and how plants need 'friends' to help them grow. This is called companion planting. Thank you, Year 9!
