White Water Rafting

Our Y12/13 PE students enjoyed an exhilarating day of white water rafting in the Kaitoke Regional Park on Friday. As part of their NCEA achievement standards on risk and safety management, they experienced a day on the river putting what they had learnt into practice. A 10km grade 3 river stretch was completed which included exciting rapids, jumping into the water, drinking from fresh waterfalls and floating down rapids. Lunch was spent on a sunny bank, surrounded by native bush and birdsong. The students demonstrated amazing teamwork, positive attitudes and adventurous spirits. The instructors from Wellington Rafting were brilliant in guiding, educating and keeping everybody warm. It was a really fun day. See more photos on our Meta (Facebook) page. |
