As part of the Strengthening Democracy Project, Year 13 students CC and Arabella visited the British High Commission on Monday evening following a workshop at the Loaves and Fishes. The visit provided a unique opportunity to see diplomacy in action and to hear from members of the Commission, including the Deputy High Commissioner, who spoke about democratic engagement and the role of international diplomacy. 

The project focuses on understanding democracy, its strengths and weaknesses, how checks and balances function in Aotearoa New Zealand, and encouraging active, lifelong civic participation. It was a thought-provoking evening that deepened students' appreciation for democratic processes and global partnerships.
