Today, our Year 12 Financial Skills class stepped into the world of money management with a hands-on and engaging activity using the board game Skint to Mint, developed by Treasury New Zealand. The game is a simulation of real life, designed to teach young people essential financial concepts such as KiwiSaver, investing in shares, and the importance of savings. Students navigated everyday financial decisions while gaining a practical understanding of how share values can rise and fall. By playing Skint to Mint, students explored the mechanics of investing and experienced how different choices can affect their financial future. The classroom was buzzing with strategic thinking, unexpected market turns, and valuable discussions about money management. This activity is part of our commitment to equipping students with practical skills that will serve them well beyond school. We're proud to support initiatives like this that make financial literacy both accessible and engaging. |
