At the end of Term 2, our Preschool and Primary students were treated to an energetic and joy-filled dance workshop with the Royal New Zealand Ballet – and what a dazzling experience it was! The Dazzlehands workshop had everyone moo-ving and grooving as we explored ballet positions, learned some exciting choreography, and got a sneak peek into RNZB's performance of Dazzlehands, based on the award-winning book by Sacha Cotter and Josh Morgan. There was plenty of laughter and movement as we choo chooed like trains, flossed with flair, stood tall like flamingos, and twirled our way through the session. We also loved listening to the story of Dazzlehands come to life through a special reading – sparking imaginations and inspiring lots of sparkly moves! There was such a buzz afterwards – students rushed back to share their new dance moves with friends and many were excited to ask if they could go to the ballet over the weekend... and even sign up for ballet lessons again! A big thank you to the RNZB for offering these free, high-energy workshops and giving our students such a fun and inspiring introduction to the world of ballet. |
