Reflecting on Good Friday at Chaplain's Assembly
Thursday, 27 March 2025

At this morning's Chaplain's Assembly, Chaplain Sarah shared the Good Friday story using a series of powerful symbols to help students reflect on its meaning. Each symbol represented a key moment in the story:

  • 30 pieces of silver – the symbol of betrayal
  • A bowl of water – the symbol of injustice
  • Purple cloth and a crown of thorns – the symbol of humiliation
  • Nails – the symbol of pain and suffering
  • A cross – the symbol of Jesus's deep love

Sarah invited students to consider which of these symbols resonated with them most today. They were given a paper heart to place at the symbol that spoke to them, creating a moment of quiet reflection and connection.
