Karina started dancing at a young age and trained with Jennifer Evans Dance Academy whilst at Marsden. After leaving school, Karina moved to Sydney, Australia to attend Tanya Pearson’s Classical Coaching Academy 2011-2012, where the focus was main ballet technique and artistry. After a strenuous 2-week audition tour in Europe, Karina moved to Basel, Switzerland to attend the Ballettschule Theatre Basel 2012-2013 and left with a Diploma in Dance. This school had a 70/30 split between ballet and contemporary, and techniques included Russian Vaganova, ABT for ballet and Counter release for contemporary. Karina then moved to London to attend the Rambert School for Ballet and Contemporary 2013-2016. She graduated with a FD and BAHons in ballet and contemporary dance. This school was 60/40 Contemporary/Ballet and is renowned for their formal training in Graham and Cunningham. In her graduating year, Karina had the opportunity to audition and dance with Rambert Company multiple times in productions such as “A Linha Curva” by Itzik Galili and on stage accompanied by the Garsington Opera. Since graduating, Karina has remained in London to pursue job opportunities, such as music videos, live performances, and a majority of work based in contemporary Research and Development with choreographers during their creative process, including stints training with Scottish Dance Theatre, Rambert, and Hofesh Schecter. |
