Old Girl awarded Prestigious Scholarship

Marsden Old Girl and University of Canterbury law lecturer Rachael Evans (Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Pamoana, Pākehā) has received a prestigious scholarship from the Michael and Suzanne Borrin Foundation and Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga, New Zealand’s Māori Centre of Research Excellence. Rachael's PhD research will investigate how iwi can exercise rangatiratanga (sovereignty or autonomy) through the development of fiscal authority. Rachael says she chose law because 'A Law degree provides you with high quality research and critical thinking skills that can be applied to any situation. I chose Law because I wished to pursue a degree that would prepare me for a challenging writing and research-based career.' She has certainly achieved that. Read full article ... (06/03/2023) |
