Recent Hall of Fame Laureate and international human rights lawyer Amelia Evans (Class of 2002) continues to make an impact in her role as Deputy Director of Advocacy for the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). Based in New York City, CPJ is dedicated to defending journalists' rights to report safely and without fear of reprisal. This photo captures a powerful moment on World Press Freedom Day, when Amelia rang the bell to open the Stock Exchange. Her image was also displayed on Times Square's largest billboard, carrying a vital message: "End impunity in journalist killings." An inspiring advocate for justice and press freedom—congratulations, Amelia! ![]() |
