  • Wellington Dentist Promotion

    Posted: 9/5/2025

Wellington Dentists now offers specialist paediatric dental care with the recent addition of Dr Lydia Ng to our team. Dr Ng is a highly trained paediatric dentist with a passion for caring for tamariki. She is available at our practice to provide routine, complex, and preventative dental treatment for children in a welcoming and supportive environment.

To celebrate her arrival and help families prepare for the new school term, we're offering your students a 10% discount on dental fees through to the end of Term 2. (Please note this offer excludes lab fees and treatment under general anaesthetic.) To redeem the discount, bookings can be made online or via phone—just mention the code 'BACK TO SCHOOL'.

A little about Dr Ng: she was raised in the Hutt Valley and is a graduate of Marsden Collegiate. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago and completed her specialist paediatric training at the University of Adelaide. Her experience spans across New Zealand and Australia, and she now consults at Hutt Hospital while living in Wellington with her young whanau. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local playgrounds with her children, volunteering with the kids' team at Arise Church, and baking up sweet treats.

  • Upcoming Performance by a Marsden Old Girl

    Posted: 25/3/2025

Marsden Old Girl, medical doctor (psychiatrist), author and comedian/actor Jo Prendergast has recently returned from taking a different show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her one woman show about her breast cancer survivorship has received 5 star reviews and is on a 6 city Australia and NZ tour and has been programmed into the prestigious NZ International Comedy Festival. See website here

She is performing one show at the Tapere Nui theatre at Te Auaha 65 Dixon Street at 5pm on Saturday 10 May if any staff or parents would like to attend. It's a show for adults rather than teenagers.

There are many important health messages in the show, especially about menopause and the early detection of cancer. These are delivered with both her medical doctor and lived experience 'hats' on.

It's an uplifting positive show about using humour to cope with tough stuff in life.

    ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "A cracker of a show with an important message" - Glam Adelaide

    ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "A must-see, unforgettable performance, hilarious and heartwarming" -Such Cliche

'In addition to being very funny, Jo also has a terrific way of sharing educational information. The show is full of fun and silly pieces. Watching her role play hypothetical conversations between her "Boomer Boob" and "Millennial Boob" was a real treat, as was the Cancer Patient Job Interview'. I know you'll laugh, you'll learn, and you'll want to congratulate her after. – Backstage Christchurch

'We will be leaving the theatre uplifted by a courageous soul and a resoundingly funny performance.' – Theatreview
